Down — sharply. Between the Major Shop's launch on 21 May 2026 and mid-September, Cologne 2026 sticker prices fell hard from their launch-week frenzy. The marquee donk (Gold) sticker — which spiked to about $791 on the open market (and roughly $1,220 in the in-game token shop) in late May — now sells for around $59, a drop of about 93%. The stickers are still buyable directly in the token-based Major Shop until it closes on 29 September 2026, after which only third-party marketplaces will carry them.

Almost everything written about Cologne 2026 stickers dates from the May–June launch, when the new token shop was the story. Nobody published what happened next. This is that answer, built on live secondary-market prices we read on 12 September 2026 and the documented launch-week peaks. Did Cologne 2026 sticker prices go up or down after the Major?

Down, and it wasn't close. The price arc has three clear phases:

  • Launch frenzy (21–27 May 2026): demand-driven token prices exploded. donk's Gold sticker passed 122,976 tokens (~$1,220) within hours of the shop opening (Strafe, 4 Jun 2026; Hawk Live). On the open market it peaked around $791 on 27 May (csgoskins.gg, read 12 Sep 2026).
  • The Major (2–21 June 2026): the tournament ran and Team Falcons beat FURIA 3–0 in the final (Liquipedia). Prices for most stickers were already sliding off their May highs.
  • After the Major (late June onward): several stickers hit their lows in the days after the final. donk (Gold) bottomed at $45.62 on 29 June 2026 — eight days after the final — before a partial recovery to roughly $59 by mid-September (csgoskins.gg).

So the headline number: the most expensive Cologne 2026 sticker is down about 90%+ from its peak. Most stickers followed the same shape — a late-May spike, then a decline that troughed around the end of the Major. The exceptions are covered below.

Why did Valve remove sticker capsules for Cologne 2026?

Cologne 2026 was the first CS2 Major with no sticker capsules and no souvenir packages (DMarket, May 2026; white.market). The old model was a gamble: buy a capsule, hope for a rare sticker. Valve replaced it with a token-based Major Shop where you buy the exact sticker you want — team logo, player autograph, and the paper, holo, foil or gold tier — directly, with no random draw.

The trade-off is that removing the lottery removed the cheap entry point. Instead of a few dollars for a capsule and a chance at something rare, you pay the sticker's live demand price outright. That is what pushed the top stickers into four figures at launch.

How does the token pricing system actually set a sticker's price?

Prices are demand-driven and float continuously. When a sticker sells more than others, its price rises; when demand cools, it falls (EGW, May 2026). You pay in tokens, and tokens start at 100 tokens for $0.99 (Strafe).

Because the price is a live auction of attention, the launch window was the worst possible time to buy: everyone rushed the same handful of star-player Golds at once. The full top-100 set reached $19,447.37 and the single most expensive sticker hit $1,522 in early June 2026 (gHacks, 5 Jun 2026). Those are launch-window figures; demand has fallen since.

Are Cologne 2026 stickers still available to buy in September 2026?

Yes. As of 12 September 2026 the token-based Major Shop is still open, and it is scheduled to close on 29 September 2026. After that date, new supply from the shop stops and the only way to buy Cologne 2026 stickers is through third-party marketplaces, where they already trade (white.market).

That deadline matters for one reason only: it is the last point at which fresh supply enters. What happens to prices afterward depends on demand, which we don't forecast.

What does the 25-token, 24-hour refund rule actually cover?

If a sticker's token price falls by more than 25 tokens within 24 hours of your purchase, the game automatically refunds you the difference in tokens (Strafe). That is the full extent of the protection:

  • It only applies in the first 24 hours after you buy.
  • It only covers drops beyond the 25-token threshold in that window.
  • It does nothing about a sticker bleeding value over days or weeks — which is exactly what happened to most Cologne 2026 stickers after launch.

In other words, the refund rule guards against a same-day flash crash, not the slow post-Major decline that defined the summer.

How do Major Shop token prices compare to marketplace prices right now?

Keep the two price systems separate, because they are not the same number:

  • The Major Shop token price is set in-game by live demand and is what you pay Valve directly.
  • The secondary-market price is what stickers resell for on third-party marketplaces once they are tradable.

The figures below are live secondary-market lows we read from csgoskins.gg on 12 September 2026 — not in-shop token prices. For the wider crypto-priced skin market, our CS2 skins marketplace prices weapons and knives the same fee-inclusive way.

Which Cologne 2026 stickers held value best?

The clearest pattern in the data is counterintuitive: team-logo Golds held far better than star-player autograph Golds.

  • Falcons (Gold) — the champion's team logo — peaked at ~$459 on the day of the final (21 June) and still sat near $425 in mid-September, barely off its high (csgoskins.gg).
  • Team Spirit (Gold) held around $420 against a ~$700 high (csgoskins.gg).
  • Meanwhile the two most-hyped player Golds cratered: donk (Gold) ~−93% and ZywOo (Gold) ~−92% from their May peaks.

The likely reason is supply. Star-player autograph Golds were what everyone rushed to buy at launch, so the market flooded with them and the price collapsed. Finalist team logos were bought more steadily and stayed comparatively scarce. It is the same elastic-supply dynamic that reshaped the wider skin economy after Valve's October 2025 trade-up change flooded premium knife and glove supply and crashed those prices.

For context on the backdrop these stickers trade against: the total CS2 item economy was worth about $6.19 billion on 11 September 2026, down 2.62% week-over-week (CSMarketCap) — a soft market, not a rising one.

The bottom line

Between the May launch and September 2026, Cologne 2026 sticker prices went down, led by a ~90%+ fall in the headline star-player Golds, while a few finalist team logos held most of their value. Stickers stay buyable in the Major Shop until 29 September 2026. We report what prices did; we don't tell you what to buy or where they go next.

Frequently asked questions

Down, sharply. Prices peaked during the launch frenzy in late May 2026, then fell through the June Major and the weeks after it. The marquee donk (Gold) sticker dropped from an open-market high of about $791 in late May to a low near $46 by the end of June and sits around $59 in mid-September — roughly 90% below its peak. A minority of team-logo Gold stickers held far more of their value than the heavily over-bought star-player autographs.
